37 organizations and individuals honored for outstanding achievements in foreign non-governmental work in 2018

On the morning of August, 14, 2020, in Hanoi, 21 organizations and 16 individuals with outstanding achievements in foreign non-governmental work in 2018 were honored and awarded the certificate of merit by the Committee for Foreign Non-governmental Organization Affairs (COMINGO).

 

Speaking at the award ceremony, Mr. Bui Thanh Son, Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Chairman of COMINGO delivered a speech and said that in 2018, Vietnam had recorded important achievements in all sectors including socio-economics, security, defense, foreign affairs, and so on. Foreign non-governmental work had directly supported socio-economic development and, more importantly, enhanced the relationship and cooperation with foreign non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in particular and international friends in general.  Foreign non-governmental work made an important contribution to Vietnam’s foreign affairs, including the Party’s foreign relations, State’s diplomacy and people-to-people relations.

Mr. Bui Thanh Son affirmed that 2018 highlighted the importance of foreign non-governmental work. Vietnam has enlisted the support and assistance of foreign NGOs, while at the same time ensured independence, security, socio-political stability, and enhanced the image of Vietnam in the eyes of international friends.

 

He expressed his sincere thanks and high appreciation for their positive contribution to the implementation of COMINGO’s activities in particular and foreign non-governmental work in 2018 in general. And he also hoped that the organizations and individuals would continue to promote their role to achieve the country’s development goals.

On behalf of the honored organizations and individuals, Mr. Bui Quoc Hung, Deputy Head of People-to-People Relations Department, Central Commission for External Relations expressed his honor to receive a very meaningful reward. Mr. Hung also shared that in addition to the efforts of each organization and individual, close direction and guidance of leaders and positive cooperation of related agencies helped him to complete his duties relating to foreign non-governmental work.

In the current situation, foreign non-governmental work required many new tasks. He stated that his organization was looking forward to continuing to receive COMINGO Chairman’s close direction and guidance and cooperation from other related agencies to successfully complete foreign non-governmental work.

21 organizations receiving awards: Department of Foreign Affairs – Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Department of International Organizations – Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Inspectorate of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Office of International Organizations and Foreign non-governmental organizations of Department of External Security Affairs – Ministry of Public Security; External Security Department –  provincial/city Police: Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Hoa Binh, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Kon Tum, Ho Chi Minh, Binh Phuoc and Vinh Long; Department of International Relations – Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the People’s Aid Coordinating Committee – the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations.

16 excellent individuals from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Public Security, the Government Office, the Party Central Committee’s for External Relations, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and the People’s Aid Coordinating Committee were honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Chairman of COMNINGO.
