Within the framework of the visit, on 18 January 2025, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính and the high-level Vietnamese delegation received Mr. Milos Kusy, President of the Czech–Vietnam Friendship Association, along with close friends who have long-standing ties with Viet Nam.

Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính expressed his pleasure at meeting President of the Czech–Vietnam Friendship Association Milos Kusy and other close friends of Viet Nam, affirming that the Vietnamese people always cherish the valuable sentiments, support, and wholehearted assistance extended by the Czech people to Viet Nam during its past struggle for national independence and reunification, as well as in the country’s ongoing development and nation-building process.
Commending the activities of the Czech–Vietnam Friendship Association and the personal contributions of its President in supporting the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic and promoting people-to-people exchanges and connections between the two countries, the Prime Minister affirmed that the Vietnamese State consistently supports and facilitates the Association’s continued activities and companionship with the Vietnamese people.
Informing the President of the Czech–Vietnam Friendship Association and Czech friends about Viet Nam’s socio-economic situation, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính stated that his visit to the Czech Republic aimed to further strengthen the traditional friendship between Viet Nam and the Czech Republic across all fields and deepen the friendship between the two peoples. He expressed his hope that the Friendship Association would continue supporting and promoting the increasingly substantive, effective, and in-depth development of bilateral relations.
Thanking Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính for taking the time to receive him, the President of the Czech–Vietnam Friendship Association recalled the visit to the Czech Republic by Prime Minister Phạm Văn Đồng in 1957, which left many important milestones, and expressed confidence that Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính’s current visit would usher in a new phase in bilateral relations.
Expressing admiration for Viet Nam’s remarkable development achievements, President of the Czech–Vietnam Friendship Association Milos Kusy noted that the Association has maintained close coordination with the Embassy of Viet Nam in the Czech Republic, Vietnamese associations in the Czech Republic, and the Viet Nam–Czech Friendship Association, thereby contributing to the promotion of Viet Nam–Czech relations in general, including cooperation among ministries, sectors and localities of the two countries.
Mr. Milos Kusy proposed that Viet Nam and the Czech Republic further promote people-to-people exchanges and create favourable conditions for the peoples of both countries to gain a deeper understanding of each other’s country, people, and culture, including through the establishment of a Vietnamese Cultural Centre in the Czech Republic. He affirmed that the Czech–Vietnam Friendship Association would continue to do its utmost to accompany Viet Nam in its development journey and contribute to fostering bilateral relations.
Agreeing with the proposal of the President of the Czech–Vietnam Friendship Association, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính stated that he would assign the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant ministries and agencies to study the establishment of a Vietnamese Cultural Centre in the Czech Republic, in line with Viet Nam’s policy of internationalising Vietnamese culture and integrating the quintessence of world cultures into Viet Nam.
On the sidelines of the visit, Vice President of the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organizations Nguyễn Ngọc Hùng held meetings and working sessions with partners, including the Poland–Viet Nam Friendship Association “Future”, the Vietnamese Association in Poland, the Czech–Vietnam Association, the Union of Vietnamese Associations in the Czech Republic, and several Swiss non-governmental organizations. The meetings aimed to share information about Viet Nam, review partners’ activities, and discuss prospects for future cooperation, thereby contributing to the development of traditional friendship and cooperation between the people of Viet Nam and the peoples of Poland, the Czech Republic, and Switzerland.
